UN me, Night of the UN On Friday 24 October the event UN me took place in five cities in the Netherlands. UN me celebrated the anniversary of the United Nations together with Dutch youth. Worldconnectors Ruud Lubbers, Naema Tahir, Sandra van Beest, Ton Dietz and Jos van Gennip participated in the spectacular UN me night in Amsterdam, filled with debates, comedy, music and interviews.

Round Table on Sustainable Development and Climate Change
Interested in what the Worldconnectors discuss at the Round Table? This video report shows the meeting on Sustainable Development and Climate Change, the first theme in 2008. Also interviews with: Ruud Lubbers, Gaby Spitz, Sylvia Borren, Herman Mulder and Johan van de Gronden. Van de Gronden hosted the Worldconnectors on 27 March in the Dutch WWF office in Zeist.
Why Worldconnectors connect and act together
Each Worldconnector has a motive and a drive for joining the Round Table. During the Worldconnectors meeting on 20 February 2008 in The Hague, Tineke Lambooy, Herman Mulder and Ruud Treffers share their thoughts and drive on camera. Lambooy quotes a jazz song, Mulder talks about ‘MaD-ness’ and Treffers explains our Dutch ambition to make the world a better place.
Mystery Land 2007: freedom or wealth?
What is more important: freedom or wealth? Worldconnector Sandra van Beest confronts some partygoers at the Mystery Land festival with this question. She also takes part in the debate on stage about poverty reduction and Millennium Development Goals, with Mark Rutte of the Liberal Party (VVD) and Mei Li Vos of the Labour Party (PvdA). Worldconnectors debate on Liberation Day
At the Liberation Day Festival on 5 May 2007 in the city Wageningen, the Worldconnectors organised a debate related to the theme Global Human Security. 'Leave Afghanistan, Move to Darfur' was one of the statements debated on stage. The participating Worldconnectors were: Rindert de Groot, Willemijn Aerdts, Naema Tahir, Hans Dijkstal, Erik Thijs Wedershoven and Ali al-Jaberi (a student in political science and Youth Representative of the Dutch Youth Council or 'Jeugdraad').
