As many studies have stated, our Earth is in a very bad state. Some scientists even predict an ecological collapse within a few decades. But there are also the 2,000 projects which are submitted each year to the Energy Globe Award. They show that on a global level there are solutions readily available for almost all environmental problems. Solutions that have been developed and implemented by you, by creative people and companies. It is therefore crucial to inform about these great projects and to encourage people to act and implement these solutions as well as to create sustainable business models.

Under this motto, the unique global environmental summit of best practice solutions takes place on 17th March in the Sky Lounge of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber in Vienna, initiated and carried out by Energy Globe. It will be broadcast worldwide via live stream. This way, everyone can participate in this event for free and be updated. Another goal is to initiate a sustainable community by means of the new media.

The environmental summit which will be presented by the charming Miss Earth Austria Kimberly Budinsky, will be carried out as a sustainable global interactive event in 3 parts:

  • In the first part, Prof. Mohan Munasinghe will speak about the true environmental situation of our Earth. In 2007, Prof. Munasinghe received the Nobel Prize together with the American vice president Al Gore and is one of the most famous and renowned scientists.
  • In the second part, high-level speakers of all 5 continents will inform us about the environmental situation on their continent. On the one hand about the problems and on the other hand about possible solutions. The speakers will be connected live to the conference. Among them there is the Indian Minister Maneka Gandhi who is also the chairwoman of the Energy Globe Honorary Board. These experts can deliver a sound first-hand analysis due to their livelong dedication to the environment.
  • In the third part, international environmental pioneers and winners of the Energy Globe Award 2016 will present themselves and their outstanding projects.

The event will be broadcast live on 17th March starting at 9 a.m. (UTC+1) in English. From 6 p.m. (UTC+1) it can be watched also in German: www.energyglobe.info
