The 2013-2014 SID lecture series will continue forth on October 28th with Dr. Renu Modi and a discussion about ‘South-South alliances and tri-angular cooperation’. Renu Modi is a political scientist, senior lecturer and former director of the Centre for African Studies at the University of Mumbai.

In this lecture, she will address the ways in which emerging economies are distancing themselves from traditional development models and advocating for more South-South cooperation in the field of development. How innovative is this approach and what can we learn from this South-South cooperation?

The moderator during the discussion is Peter Konijn, founder and director of the knowledge programme Knowing Emerging Powers and researcher at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
