SIDNL Lecture with Dhananjayan Sriskandarajah ‘A local focus: the citizen’s role in changing global development patterns’

On Monday 19 May, SID NL organises a lecture with Secretary General of CIVICUS, Dhananjayan Sriskandarajah. His lecture ‘“A local focus: the citizen’s role in changing global development patterns” is part of the series ‘The Political Power of Citizens and Communities’.  In his lecture he will discuss the role and power of citizens in emerging countries, like India and South-Africa. Do emerging countries offer new opportunities for their citizens? Do citizens in emerging countries express and organise themselves in similar ways as citizens in countries with a longer history of development and democracy?
