Themes of Worldconnectors

Each year the Worldconnectors focus their attention on four themes related to international sustainability issues and global citizenship. The choice of themes is motivated by the conviction that the Worldconnectors’ multi-stakeholder approach can provide an important extra contribution. The chosen issues therefore reflect the ability of the Worldconnectors to approach the themes from different angles, according to their different backgrounds and areas of expertise.

The themes are discussed by the special Worldconnectors Working Groups, which often include external specialists amongst their numbers. The aim of the Working Groups is to catalogue the possible intervention methods that can be used to influence specific debates and agendas as well as to drive viable innitiatives. The possible intervention methods are drawn up in multiple coperation and consultation forms.

These are our themes for 2016:

Future Generations

Future Generations

We are all connected. With the generations ahead of us. With our family, friends and networks in the present. And with future generations: our children, grandchildren, etcetera. Future generations are our fellowmen yet to be born, but also children and youngsters are part of this. They are the ones not in powerful positions in society. They are the ones who’s voice is not heard or not listened to enough. They are the future.
