Andrée van Es is Chairman of the Nationale Unesco Commission Netherlands. She is Co-dean of the Netherlands School of Public Administration (NSOB) and Chairman to the board of directors of De Forensische Zorgspecialisten (Specialists in Forensic Care), the UMC Groningen and Rutgers WPF.

Professional Background
Andrée van Es studied Public Administration and has extensive experience working in public administration, the public domain and politics. In the 80’s she was active as a Dutch Member of Parliament. She subsequently worked for the broadcasting organizations VPRO and NOS, was director of the political-cultural center De Balie in Amsterdam and from 2002 to 2007 was Chairman to the GGZ Netherlands. From 2001 Van Es has held several governmental positions, among which that of Director-General Administration and Kingdom Relations and that of Council Member for GroenLinks in Amsterdam (2010-2014).
