Eefke van de Wouw

Intersectional Climate Activist | Speaker | Impact Maker

Professional Background

Eefke van de Wouw is a former Youth Representative for Sustainable Development to the United Nations. Her mandate coincided with the global youth movement in the same fall, allowing her to translate the voice of young people from protests to the UN conference rooms for two years. Restoring the connection between the youngest generation and the natural environment is one of her focal points, for which she walked over 500 km through the Netherlands in 2019 to encourage young people to venture outdoors. Further experience includes coordinating and implementing projects and actions for displaced people abroad and in the Netherlands, as well as initiating a youth platform in collaboration with the theater to collectively address the questions young people have. Currently, Eefke works as an Impact Manager at Get it done, a non-profit where people who don’t know each other come together to take action for others on the most urgent societal issues of our time. For example, Eefke initiated relief efforts in Verviers after the July 2021 flood disaster. The strength of this organization lies in not waiting for others to come up with solutions but taking action together with those who also believe in making a difference.
