Henk Molenaar is Deputy Director of WOTRO Science for Global Development. He has been active for many years at the interface of science, policy and practice in the field of international development cooperation and global development challenges. He is also author of various articles on the subject.

Professional background
An anthropologist by training, Henk Molenaar holds a PhD in social sciences and has a professional background in international development issues and science policies. Before working at WOTRO Science for Global Development he worked in the Research and Communication Division of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also held a variety of managerial positions at SNV in The Hague, as well as positions as researcher, advisor and policy maker in Africa (Mali, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania), for both SNV and DGIS.

Henk Molenaar was a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD), a member of the Board of Advisers of the CAPTURED programme (CAPacity and Theory building for Universities and Research centres in Endogenous Development) and a member of the IKM Emergent Steering Group. He is currently member of the Editorial Board of Knowledge Management for Development Journal and of the International Advisory Board of the EDOLAD programme (European Doctorate in Law & Development).
