De werkgroepen van Worldconnectors
The Worldconnectors themes are chosen from a belief that we can make an important contribution to them from our inclusive and SDG-transcending approach. Topics that the Worldconnectors, with their different backgrounds and expertise, approach from different angles.
The working groups addressing these themes may consist of both Worldconnectors and external experts. The groups focus on the intervention possibilities of Worldconnectors to initiate change, not only by contributing to specific debates and agendas but also by driving promising initiatives. These intervention opportunities are developed through various working forms related to the theme.
These are the Worldconnectors working groups:
Eco Leadership
The Eco Leadership working group is focused on the societal transition from ego to eco in 2023. The mission of the working group is aimed at promoting eco-social, eco-economic, and eco-political development, to move away from profit maximization and selfishness. The vision followed by the working group is to enhance the relationship between the Netherlands and Suriname through supporting sustainable developments. Concrete goals include fostering exchange between Suriname, the diaspora, and Dutch educational institutions, inspired by global eco initiatives.
On the last Earth Charter Day, a number of Worldconnectors signed up for a new initiative aimed at getting to know each other’s activities and linking them to a collective action; our common agenda.
This led, among other things, to the question of how we can effectively convey our work to others. What is our common story, our narrative? We settled on the story ‘Who Speaks for the Tree?’, in which the focus is on considering how Nature can have a voice in every decision we make.
