In the week preceding the Worldconnectors trip, the second Human Rights Defenders Tulip was rewarded to the Iranian lawyer and women’s right activist Shadi Sadr.

Last weekend you could find me, like many others of my generation, at Lowlands. Not (only) to enjoy the music and sun, but also to discuss some urgent matters. And I was not the only one. During the festival, more than 350 young people debated the issues on the Llowgenda.
In previous editions of the festival, Lowlands University had already proven that 'Lowlanders' come to the polder with many bright and constructive ideas. To my surprise, the evening started like the dinners with my rowing team Calypso: all the guests introduced themselves by singing and dancing on their personal anthems.
After the musical contribution, Mama Cash presented the results of the `88 days campaign` to create awareness of the situation of many women in the world. The facts and figures were followed by a teenage girl who wrote a book to raise money for the campaign. She was invited on stage by Mama Cash ambassador Angela Groothuizen together with Benedicte Lochtenberg (an...
